Faculty Facts

Qualifications: Each of the Faculty members have a college degree or equivalent experience to qualify as experts in their field. All have professional performing experience —in orchestras, bands, as accompanists or soloists. (Most have graduate degrees.) Many of our faculty members also teach at other prestigious urban music conservatories. You have the convenience of working with them close to your own home! For the safety of our students, a criminal background check and child abuse clearance is secured for each teacher. 

Voice: Wendy Hellyer

By Special Arrangement

B.A., M.A., (voice) Temple University, drama studies at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts (NYC), private study with Dolf Swing of Julliard, Florence Berggren of Julliard and Temple University, coaching with Martin Rich, Assoc. Conductor, Metropolitan Opera. “Born in a Trunk”, Wendy is the second generation in her family to perform and sing. Her performing experience includes drama, musical theater, banquet dates, industrial and trade shows, commercial voice-overs and classical concert work. She has appeared with Dizzy Gillespie at the Temple Jazz Festival and sung Mozart’s Exsultate Jubilate with the Bryn Athyn Symphony. She has written and directed revues for Plays and Players, industrial training shows for corporations such as Rohm & Haas and the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Hellyer has taught voice at the University of the Arts, Temple University (graduate assistant) and the Community College of Philadelphia.   <<back to top

 

 

Clarinet & Saxophone: Brian Adamczyk

B.A. Music from the University of the Arts. Brian Adamczyk has performed at the Arden, Merriam, Walnut Street and Media theaters plus the Lenape Performing Arts Center, Villanova, the Kimmel Center, Bally’s, Tropicana, the Sands and Hilton in Atlantic City. He has performed with the Tempatations, Trudy Pitts jazz ensemble and recorded clarinet with John Legend, “The Studio”in 2005 and is a member of the New Jersey Saxophone Quartet. Mr. Adamczyk also teaches for George School and has taught for several high school and college summer band programs. .<<back to top

 

Flute: Anne Leibowitz

B.A., M.A., (music education & special education) Temple University. She currently plays in the Olney Symphony Orchestra and the Ambler Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Leibowitz is a favorite soloist with reformed ensembles. She is a member of the Philadelphia Flute Society and a Charter Board Member of the Bucks County Performing Arts Instititute. <<back to top


Piano: Roburt Gajdos

M.A., (composition) Trenton State College, B.A., (piano) University of the Arts. Roburt has studied with Susan Starr, Joseph Schwartz, Olga Stroumillo, Mathilde McKinney, Edward Hatrak and Dr. Eugene Copeland. Roburt’s concert career has included performances for Delaware Valley College, New Jersey State Museum Concert Series, Trenton Cultural Center, Heritage Towers, Bucks County Community College, and Trenton Symphony. Accompanist to Perry Ward, Metropolitan Baritone, and the Abington Choral Club. He has also performed works for Oboe/English Horn and piano by composers Andrea Cleardield and Oerek Bell with Philadelphia oboe virtuoso, Rheta Smith. Mr. Gajdos currently composes and teaches for the Musical Arts Academy of Bucks County and performs “two piano works” with concert pianist, Lori Rosolowsky. <<back to top

Violin/Viola: Raymond J. Taylor

By Special Arrangement

M.A., Esther Boyer College of Music, Temple Univ.; Artistic Diploma, University of Toronto; Spanish Music Diploma, Satiago de Compostela, Spain; Suzuki violin training at the School for Strings, NY. Mr. Taylor was concert master/soloist with the Royal Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra and Soloist with the Toronto Symphony and CBC Symphony Orchestras. A prize winner at the Royal College of Music in London, his credits include numerous commercial works for theaters and television. Currently, he teaches at Eastern College, Tri-County Conservatory of Music in Quakertown and plays for the Lehigh Valley Chamber Orchestra. Mr. Taylor is also certified in piano and violin teaching by the Music Teacher’s National Association. <<back to top

Acting and Speech: Allison Green

Private coaching by special arrangement

B.F.A., (drama) at The Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting (NYU), M.A. in acting performance studies at London University. Her teaching and directing credentials include Walnut Street Theatre, University of Pennsylvania, The Performing Arts School of Philadelphia, University of the Arts, New York University, and Delaware Theatre Company. Her stage performances include Portia in The Merchant of Venice, and Lady MacDuff in Macbeth and Katherine in Taming of the Shrew at Philadelphia Area Repertory Theatres. She has performed in industrial, educational and commercial films and numerous voice overs. <<back to top

Piano: Rosaria Kim

Completes her B.M. this fall in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy at Temple University. Ms. Kim performs as a soloist, and accompanist for vocalists. She has been the recipient of numerous musical awards since age 9 including the Grand Prize at The Most Gifted Young Musicians' Award by Queen Sirkit Educators' Foundation in Thailand. She is Music Director for Saint Malachy's Church.

Cello: Victoria Baltimore

Victoria Baltimore B.A. Cello Performance – The Curtis Institute, Philadelphia Victoria Baltimore (nee Hurt) joins us after several years in California where she was performed with the leading concert and studio orchestras. Ms. Baltimore has performed with the Curtis Orchestra, Haddonfield Symphony, the Verbier Music Festival in Switzerland, the Anne Sophie Mutter, Andre Previn Euro Tour and more. A former faculty member at the Settlement Music School and Nelly Berman Music School, she brings her student’s wonderful musicianship and teaching skills. <<back to top 

Trumpet, Trombone, & Tuba: Joshua Anderson

Joshua is completing a B.A./M.A. Music Performance & Education program at the University of the Arts. He was a merit scholarship student at Settlement school and a member of the Bucks County Youth Orchestra for 3 years. He has performed at Chris’s Café, Zanzibar Blue, the Merriam Theater and for several community and regional theaters in the area. He teaches brass at Archbishop Ryan High School and Lowell Elementary School. <<back to top 

Guitarist: Toni Flacco

Toni Flacco’s guitar skills and versatility have kept her in demand with bands throughout the region and opening acts, such as Mel Tillis, Charlie Daniels and Carl Perkins (composer of “Blue Suede Shoes”). One of the first women Mummers to march down Broad Street, Toni has played for the New Year’s Day Parade for the last 15 years. Ms. Flacco has taught at the Learning Studio and regional music schools. She holds an Associate Degree in Music from Temple University. <<back to top

Mariya studied piano at an early age in Moscow. She performed in the Big Hall of the Moscow Conservatory and won multiple competitions. Ms. Broytman got her B. A. in Piano Performance, Accompanying and Pedagogy from the Ippolitov-Ivanov college of Music where she studied with Valentina Pavlova, and Leo Oborin’s student- Olga Pavlova.She completed her M. A. in Piano Performance and Accopmanying at Temple University , studying with Harvey Wedeen and Lambert Orkis.

Clarinetist: Wesley Hall

Wesley graduated from The New School Institute of Temple University’s College of Music, following studies Settlement Music School. He has performed for: Settlement Music School Distinguished Alumni Concert Series, New Music America Festivals in Hartford, CT., Philadelphia, PA. and Miami, FL. , Olde City Wind Quintet, Orchestra Society of Philadelphia, Concerto Soloists Concert Band, and Appel Farm Opera Orchestra, Relache Contemporary Music Ensmble and The Philadelphia Orchestra as winner of the Student Concert Auditions. He teaches clarinet and coaches and conducts ensembles. <<back to top

Acting: Gene Terinoni

Gene Terinoni’s television credits include Principal rolls in “PHILLY”, “Homicide”, “Law & Order”, “The New Detectives”, “The Prosecutors” and “The Conan O’Brien Show” and QVC. His theatre credits include lead roles in “Phantom”, “Music Man”, Sugar Babies”, “Perfect Crime” and “The Dreamer Examines His Pillow”. He has studied at the Wilma Theatre, with Mike Lemon, John Barth, and June Lyendecker. <<back to top

Drums, Percussion: Jeffery Schnitzer

B.A., M.A. Music & Music Education from Temple University. Jeff Schnitzer is a freelance percussionist who has performed with the Mostovoy Soloists, Philadelphia Pops, Academy of Vocal Arts Opera Company, Ocean City Pops, Walnut Street Theater plus several name artists, bib bands and club dates. He has recorded at Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia and other studios in New York, composed and arranged band and ensemble music for college, professional and elementary ensembles and taught percussion for Neshaminy School District and privately for many years. <<back to top

Acting: Elena Dell’Aguzzo Wilby

Elena Dell’Aguzzo Wilby has been seen in regional theatre productions of Nunsense, Oliver, Music Man,Guys & Dolls, Carnival, and others. She appeared in the Martin Scorcese film “Age of Innocene”, Abe Vigoda’s “Home of Angels” and has worked in several industrial films. She studied acting at HB studios in NYC and with George DiCienzo. <<back to top

Violin, Viola: Tatiana Galitskaya

Tatiana Galitskaya has a B.A. in Music from the Kyrgyzstan University of the Arts. New to us this year, Tatiana is a brilliant musician who trained and performed in Kyrgyzstan. Ms Galitskaya has been a violinist with Opera and Ballet Orchestra in the city of Bishkek and the Kyrgyzstan State Symphonic Orchestra. After completing her degree, she taught violin at the Kyrgyz State University of the Arts for several years. Now in America, she has joined HPAC and the Academy of Music in Ardmore. She continues to play in local orchestras. <<back to top

Christina N. DobsonViolin & Viola: Christine N. Dobson

Christina N. Dobson has her B.S. in Music Education (Viola Major) from Lebanon Valley College. Ms. Dobson is a long-time teacher of both violin and viola students both locally and in the Dauphin County Schools. As a young violist Ms. Dobson was a member of the “Baroque Players” at the Temple University Center for Gifted Young Musician’s program under David Booth and later a member of the Lebanon Valley Symphonic Orchestra. Christina has been a requested guest teacher and clinician for Council Rock and other school districts, preparing their violists for the BCMEA County Orchestra, String Day and Music in the Parks Festivals. She and her violin partner also perform string duos for area receptions and events.

Regina GolovinaCello: Regina Golovina

Ms Golovina has as B.A. (Music) from the Conservatory of Uzbekistan and a  M.A. (Cello Performance)  from Temple University. Born in Uzbekistan, Ms. Golovina, began her music studies in cello and piano at the Uspensky Special Music School. A veteran of numerous competitions, Ms. Golovina has soloed with the Uzbekistan National Symphony Orchestra, Chamber orchestras: “Turkistan” and “Singing Strings”, and modern music ensemble “Omnibus”. At Temple University, Regina studied with Jeffrey Solow, took master classes with Lynn Harrell, played with TUSO in Kimmel Center and Carnegie Hall and premiered a trio by composer Andre Singer in New York.
