The Hellyer Performing Arts Center (HPAC) is conveniently located in lower Bucks County, providing easy access for residents throughout Bucks County and Northeast Philadelphia.

The HPAC facility offers:

  • Music and drama instruction – Classes and private lessons taught by experienced Hellyer Performing Arts staff members (see LESSONS)

  • Administrative and educational space – Office and classroom facilities for the Bucks County Performing Arts Institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the performing arts (see BCPAI)

  • Professional studio space – Dedicated classroom and studio areas available for independent music instructors. ( see STUDIO SPACES )

HPAC was founded in 1993 by singer and voice teacher, Wendy Hellyer, for the purpose of providing professional level training for area students without the time and cost of traveling to a major metropolitan city. Each of the Faculty members have a college degree (Many have graduate degrees) or equivalent experience to qualify as experts in their field. All have professional performing experience in orchestras,  bands or theaters.

You have the convenience of working with them close to your own home!

For the safety of our students,  a criminal background check and a child abuse clearance is secured for each teacher. All studios have windows to provide visibility at all times.

Testimonials

My daughter and I, both music lovers, were looking for some Daddy/Daughter things to do.. we joined the choir at Hellyer Performing Arts.. the experience brings smiles and so much joy, not to mention enriching our lives with music!

From Bruce O Feasterville, PA

Nary a moment behind the wheel in my car, that there wasn’t music blaring away.. and me, singing right along with it until my lungs and vocal chords felt like they were going to explode..  so I decided to become a better vocalist and selected Wendy Hellyer to guide me on that path.. and I’m still belting them out behind the wheel only now, I’m never going hoarse and seldom out of breath when I sing.

In my years studying piano and voice with HPAC I have received more happiness and knowledge than I could have imagined.  During my vocal lessons the studio was quiet and conducive to interesting techniques and I, as a senior student, found it most enjoyable to learn how to sing and to enjoy singing properly.  I was introduced to many styles and forms of music and enjoyed all of it.  I was born into a musical family but I myself needed to understand the craft involved.  It's never too late to learn.  I thank my teachers and mentors in this wonderful art form for helping me. - From BR

For many years, my daughter received voice instruction at Hellyer Performing Arts Center. Private lessons provided her with a solid foundation in music, but the most rewarding experience for me was the intergenerational choir. The time my daughter and I spent together learning challenging music, practicing and performing musicals and enjoying the camaraderie of other young people and their parents – it was absolutely priceless!  - From JOY
